I didn't hate this as a historical fantasy, or a fantasy set in a similar-yet-different "medieval" world. I didn't really like it as a Macbeth retelling. I also didn't particularly enjoy how Reid would randomly write out character dialogue like it was in a play or script. ('Roscilla: words / Macbeth: words' as opposed to 'Roscilla said, "words."')
