Unforgettable by Delaney Diamond

3.0

This was a quick and easy read. Interested in learning more about the Johnson family! 3.5 Stars

Unforgettable is the first book in the Johnson family series and focuses on Ivy and Lucas as the hero and heroine. The two were previously involved with each other and ended up going in separate directions. Ivy appears to want more from the relationship than Lucas who ultimately becomes a "relationship" expert. He decides to accept a teaching assignment and relinquishes his relationship with Ivy. Overall, I thought that this was an interesting book. It's a second chance romance with a slight surprise element that I was necessarily expecting. There was clearly old chemistry between Ivy and Lucas. Their personalities are vastly different and through the text it's clear that Ivy humbles Lucas. He's arrogant in a lot of his thought processes and this is crystal clear in the beginning of the book when readers meet him for the first time at a speaking engagement. This is also a billionaire/heiress romance with Ivy coming from an extremely wealthy family. I wasn't sure how that was going to fit into the narrative of the book, but Diamond makes it work towards the end. Part of this is a classic "princess and the pauper" trope, but it works very well with the characterization. It was a solid read and I'm interested in picking up the next book in the series.
