An Unkindness of Ravens: Monsters. Survivors. One Vindictive Game. Welcome to the End. by J. G. Buys

4.0

An Unkindness of Ravens is a post-apocalyptic tale about a group of survivors battling monsters as they embark on a quest to rescue their friends. There are three points of view. The main protagonist is consistently hot-headed, the second is the expected leader of the group, and the third has a mysterious backstory. The more mature characters occasionally act a bit younger than they are, but this didn't detract from the story. The story is concise, has consistent action, and has an ominous tone. The monsters are also interesting. And the hints dropped throughout the novel and the ending have intriguing set-ups for the next book/series.
