In a departure from his usual approach to fantasy, Frugal Wizard felt like something very different for Sanderson. Sadly, it missed the mark for me.
The story felt confused and mismatched. I didn’t like any of the characters, and I wasn’t really interested in finding out how the plot turned out.
Similar to Tress, there were some big attempted strides into comedy that felt influenced by Terry Pratchett.
