The writing is fantastic - I am always skeptical of “every chapter a new perspective” books, but this one NAILS it. 

 

Dolores. 🥺🥺🥺 What an amazing portrayal of a Peurto Rican mom just trying to hold it together in the city. I am so happy I read this book, the ending left me with tears in my eyes. Lovingly written, funny and sad and just tender. This is a novel. The final scenes had me on the edge of my seat. The club! The race! The final chapter from Ruthy’s POV!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
