This volume 100% sold me on BAB. Meatbun remains unmatched in my eyes in writing psychological romances and I don’t even know if I can call this a romance honestly. It’s fucked up. It’s painful. Both main characters are in a lot of pain and don’t know how to deal with their emotions.
I usually hate narratives where a character ends up with their rapist but despite all the terrible things He Yu has done I can’t help to want to beg XQC to just look at him. Give him a glance. A word even. He Yu has done unforgivable things, but getting to look into his twisted psyche shows how those things are born out of a deep-seated pain.
