I took me some time to rate this book.
Not in love is by far Ali Hazelwoods most realistic book. I love myself a good romantic but still based in reality story. But i feel like Ali may have felt like she HAS to write something more like this than her normal narrative.
In the past year or so i saw many people criticising Alis way of storytelling and while, yes, it’s over the top, i do love it.
not in love is still in that genre but the hero has not been pining over our main girl since page one or even longer. He had loving relationships before and i don’t know how to explain but it’s not as fairytale-y, i guess?
Still, i liked the book even though i usually anticipate something different in Ali Hazelwoods novels. I was a little heartbroken, not gonna lie💔
