you know that quote, 'art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable'? this book felt a lot like that in some ways.
this book made me think about things different. it's not perfect, and as many people note, the sexism and racism's role in the story is questionable, to say the least. but i think it's a sign of a great piece of work when it gets you thinking, and an even greater one if it makes you question the way you think. tough read, but very worth it.
