What a collection of melancholy stories!
I went into this as an ARC and had no idea what I was about to read. Be prepared to feel the sadness.
With that said, each of these stories was beautifully written. Language was poetic at times and conveyed real emotion. There was this back and forth with time that made each story pop. Each piece felt connected, not just through similar sentiments, but with subtlety. I felt like there was a string linking the stories together despite each taking on a completely different character. There was beautiful reflection, not just from within the characters but also in names and colors. All these little details make these short and surface simple stories more complex and full of depth.
