This is my first 5 star novel in about a year, and it’s well deserved. I love the way Mirza constructed this complicated, beautiful family dynamic with its messy, loveable characters. Mirza builds her characters by showing us what they notice in the world, and it was so fascinating to read about the same events through multiple characters perspectives. Everyone was flawed and lovable, and I was emotional throughout the whole read.
