Symbiont by Mira Grant

It's not quite as good as Parasite, but it keeps up the drama and intrigue. It was another quick read for me, despite being quite thick, but it struggled to get to the point. I think much of what happened could have been condensed and nothing would have been lost. That being said, it was still a great sequel to the first and still makes a great set up to the last book in the trilogy.
