This is the type of book that makes me shake my fist at Goodreads’ strict full star rating system. Yes, I could just round to the nearest full star, but it doesn’t *feel* right. Putting five stars feels like a commitment. I just had second thoughts when ordering the physical copies of these books because they’re on Kindle Unlimited; how am I expected to round to the nearest star when that star means the difference between “it was pretty good, genuinely good book, would read more” and “IF THIS BOOK WAS A PERSON I WOULD MARRY IT”.
Woe is me.

Anywho, the book… first like, 5-10% was unrealistic and had some continuity errors that stuck out to me and took me out of the story. Last 5-10% was unrealistic and just downright ridiculous at sometimes. I’m aware of what I’m getting in to with these types of romance books. But the last couple of chapters felt more like a sketch comedy skit about a rom com, rather than an actually intriguing romance novel driven by great characters. Which gets me to the middle of the book; by far some of my favourite character storytelling I’ve read in a long time (hey- wait- don’t look at my 2yr hiatus).
These characters felt *REAL*, and I felt like I knew them all. Now there is A LOT of characters, and there was one or two times where I had to stop and think about who some people were. But their interactions felt real, and I could feel the love they had for one another.

If you’re into well written character interactions, and can stomach some unrealistic scenarios; give this a go.

I am hooked on the town of Knockemout. I require more Honky Tonk Women, please and thank you.
