Whoa. This is a fucking Experience! Its meant to be read aloud, and with an accompanying album. I listened to a live performance of this with the music.
Are there some generic platitudes in here along the way? Sure. But I have never experienced a book like this one before - the anxious background track coupled with the snippets of individual lives coming to a big crescendo all worked together perfectly and this was the perfect accompaniment to a long drive home after an even longer day.
Even if it ends up being not your thing, take an hour of your life and give this thing a shot!
