I accidentally picked this up instead of Deltora Quest and was bitterly disappointed. (Was too focused on the "Quest" part of the title)
There are similarities between the two series other than the name. I still haven't read DQ but I have seen the anime so I have a good idea of what it's all about.
I think it would be a decent read for younger kids. It spans that gap between fairy tales and proper novels. I'll probably give my copy to my seven-year-old cousin. Hopefully he'll like it.
