This particular addition to the Temperance Brennan series didn't do much for me. Unlike previous installments, the mystery was slow and unengaging and I often found my mind wandering. Kathy Reichs explains in the afterword that she, like her titular character, was diagnosed with a brain aneurism that is a ticking time bomb, which is why there was a five year gap between the previous book in the series and this one. So my guess is that Reichs is rusty, understandably, and her next book will be a return to form.

I will absolutely be picking up The Bone Code when it is released in July.
