The Private School Murders by Maxine Paetro, James Patterson
2.0

I read this book so fast just so that I could get it over with. I did think it was slightly better than the first book but still had the same annoyances. I had trouble believing the love story (love sick memories that made me want to barf) and the weird pill popping family history (at least Tandy had feelings in this book?) oh- and of course she solved every mystery- but by mere chance and not by actually piecing a bunch of facts together to form an intelligent conclusion. I had trouble believing that the evidence/clues she found wouldn't have been discovered by the police in the first place. The whole book just portrayed every other person an idiot except for 16 year old Tandy. The only interesting part was the brothers murder trial but of course that got ruined in the end by having the killer confess. Just. Like. That. No dramatic conclusion- just happened to be a killer willing to cooperate. Whatever. I regretted starting this book about 100 pages in but felt my time was too invested to turn back now. I started reading it to give the series another chance but I am again disappointed. Won't happen again. There are too many books out there to read than waste my time with mediocre books.
