I love horror stories set in a small town so right away this book was appealing. There is something dark going on in this town, something difficult to explain. Through the perspective of several characters, we slowly unravel the mystery. We are led down a dark path as we learn what’s going on and who is responsible. It was very unique and interesting.  Riddick’s writing was really great, very descriptive and kept me engaged throughout the story. Right from the opening, I was hooked and had to keep reading to see what was next. The characters are also done well and we feel for them as we are experiencing what they have gone through in the past and what they are facing in the present. There was a lot of emotion and heart in this story also. Such an interesting concept for this story and it had lots of tension and mystery.  Overall, I really enjoyed this!
