A Walk to Remember

Enjoyability: 4/5
Score: 4 Stars out of 5
Overview:
I knew what I was signing myself up for when I picked this up. Most of us have probably seen the movie and it’s heartbreaking. I didn’t expect any less of the book. This being my first read from this author I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of the story in such a short book. The movie has more exciting plot points that didn’t come from here but this book- it’s innocence and beauty. Something that I might expect to be somewhat boring was absolutely beautiful and I was drawn in and emotional.
The male lead, Landon could have used a little more depth but I liked him overall. I think I was expecting more of a rebel bad boy like in the movies but he’s decent. Jamie however, what a beautiful character. She’s a character I think we all know as someone in our lives that we look past. This book brought to light through her how we can better treat one another, even when it’s hard.
