I read A Starless Sea and thoroughly enjoyed it. But The Night Circus I found a lot easier to get into whilst capturing the same kind of magic from the author. It's rare that a book can evoke these kind of emotion from me which is to the novel's credit.
My one criticism is that the main romance didn't seem entirely earned, I didn't completely believe it. But that just might be something I missed or didn't understand. Nevertheless I really cared about the characters, the tragic moments and the circus itself!
