“Aubrey was . . . more complicated than I’d first decided, when we had met. He wasn’t just a stubborn asshole.
He still was one, though.
And I kind of liked that too, in the end.
After all, so was I.”
There is so much I loved in this book and I can’t talk about most of it, argh. Instead, I’ll gush about how wonderful it was to really to get to know Aubrey, who’s a treasure, and watch him hold his own, and how amazing it was to finally experience Kit’s falling in love.
Everything makes so much sense now, and Kit’s story was worth the wait! I will forever have a soft spot for sarcastic but soft-hearted assassins and their very stubborn loves. I really thought Kit was going to rock in with the top spot but my heart belongs to Frost and Caspian. Thankfully with some lovely surprises woven in, my heart is supremely happy with this very stone-tastic end to a brilliant series.
