Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

5.0

I'm reviewing this book for my son. As a first grader who has been trying and wanting to read "chapter books", we have skipped through many that are advertised at his age level, but either include words that are hard enough to read, but hard for a 7 year old to understand. After stopping every little bit to ask what that word meant in the context of the book, he would discard it for his PS3. I've been a reader since a young age and want him to try it instead of being given bad impression in such early years. So comes in diary of a wimpy kid. He loved the movie, he asked for the book, he literally couldn't put it down. He read the book in 3 days. He laughed out loud, and then begged for Rodrick Rules as soon as he was finished. Props to "DoaWK" for instilling a good start in a love of literature for my son, thanks to cracked butts and moldy cheese!
