Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl by Harriet Ann Jacobs
5.0
I'd read this some years ago and found it to be a raw and intriguing insight into a dark page of American history. Reading this for the second time, my opinions have not changed. While this book is not meant for younger audiences due to some graphic content, this is a book that should be read. The author did not sugarcoat or shy away from any unpleasantries. I feel it is so important to learn from our history and this is a very good source to include.
