The Mourning Hours by Paula Treick DeBoard

4.0

I've had this book on my TBR list forever - literal years. It just got buried at the bottom of my library wish list until now, and I'm glad I eventually got to it!⁣

This story is told from the perspective of Kirsten Hammarstrom, the youngest sister of Johnny - who's girlfriend Stacy goes missing after he's the last one to see her late one night during a Wisconsin snowstorm. She's never found & neither is evidence against Johnny - but that doesn't stop the small town from coming after him.⁣

I liked this one! It comes to a tidy ending at the end the might be a little too convenient - but I didn't guess it and I like an answer to the mystery in my novels. Being from small town Wisconsin, I understood the nature of this town well & enjoyed the references to nearby locations I recognized. If you're from the Midwest & like a mystery, I bet you'll like this!
