Mafiosa by Catherine Doyle

3.0

I’ll have you know that this final instalment of this tragic trilogy really was worth reading every single page. There was so much more violence, anger and drama I almost didn’t want to do anything but read until the very end.

But I must say, the rawness of it all, the loss and the angst really made me feel and understand the true horror of the mafia underworld.

Sophie was truly strong and brave to have endured so much and then some, it was traumatic but the family ties really pulled together with the Falcones. I don’t even wanna touch base on the fucking Marinos.

There is so much more I wanna say with regards to this book because the previous two really did a good job of building up towards to climaxes of this one. I just don’t have the words to further explain how I felt reading this or even my thought process during this because my mind is still in shambles. Trust it was good. Not great but I definitely don’t hate it.

Truth of the matter is, love really prevails.

Also, question; does me now wanting to be a mob wife, just an after effect of reading this book or no?

Favourite quote: “ ‘But allowing yourself to be vulnerable does not make you weak, it makes you strong. It makes you brave. And most importantly, it gives you more to live for’. ”
