This book was pretty boring but had a fantastic ending. Even though it’s pretty short it was a bit of a sludge to get through it at some parts, but I did really enjoy the last two chapters.

I originally thought this book was something about self care and the value of rest. Be warned!!! It’s actually about being depressed and taking a bunch of drugs 24/7 in order to avoid life. And in some ways that also makes it about self-care, but in a way that is sort of twisted. Which kind of made it cool??

I’m still kind of working through how I felt about this book, because I really was not a fan during the middle but the ending tied everything up in such a beautiful and satisfying way. I feel like if you like weird shit you could like this book. Like weirdly I feel like if you like the movie The Substance you might like this?? Not that this is horror at all, but something about it feeling so much Girl and being kind of sick and twisted.

But yeah, I wouldn’t blindly recommend this but I might recommend it to specific people, those people being weird girls. Who can handle the content warnings, which there are several of.
