A Dance with Dragons
by George R.R. Martin
3.5 stars
I'm not quite sure how to rate this book. 1st, my reading experience (similarly to the third book) was vastly damaged by the amount of spoilers people around me gave me; 2nd of all, the book mostly features characters I'm not very fond of or I'm rarely excited to read about, with the exception of Jon Snow; 3rd, clearly this book is a continuation of its predecessor. I know, I know, "duh, it's a series, of course it's a continuation". What I mean is that book 4 and 5 are, in a sense, the same story with different characters and in different places. So it felt like a less exciting end to the 4th book rather than a book on itself.
It's a bit unfair to rate the book almost as another one in the series when it is, to be more accurate, a part 2 of the 4th book. This being said, the book was slightly less exciting to me than book 4. It's a good book but the pace only picks up in the end.
The worst however is now the wait... I wonder if it's going to take more five years...
