Festive in Death by J.D. Robb

Eve Dallas 39.

The death of a man no one liked gives NYPD Homicide Lieutenant Eve Dallas a wealth of possible suspects. As if that wasn't stressful enough, she has to shop for Christmas gifts for the many friends she's somehow acquired over the years.

Love, marriage, trust, promises. They are all explored in this wonderful entry in the futuristic detective series. I was glad to see a return to simple murderers rather than the genius masterminds we have had in some of the collection lately. Having to find justice for someone who should rather have been put in jail adds a certain something to the story. I'm amazed to be as enthralled with the series now as I was when I started reading it. Not many series can keep your interest for that long a time. Nora Roberts is truly a phenomenal writer. 5 out of 5.
