Bite the Biscuit by Linda O. Johnston
2.0
I wanted to enjoy this book. I became distracted by a few things. The main Character seemed to measure her worth by how men thought about her. A man was constantly running to "save" her. If it wasn't her brother it was someone who was intrested in her. The only powerful assertive women in the book, either moved away or were murdered in the begining of the book. (No spoiler because they tell you in the description who gets murdered.)
The dog seemed more like a prop than a part of the story. She moved him around from place to place and he would bark every once in a while to remind us there was a dog there, but he really didn't figure into the book.
The best mystery with a dog to me is Dog on It. The lead character is a dog and his partner is a man. There are no weak women in this book though.
