Chasing Us - Special Edition
by Kat T. Masen
Chasing Us picks up right where Chasing Love left off so please ensure you read Chasing Love first before starting, as this is book 2 of a duet.
*Please be warned there may be book 1 spoilers in this review*
Charlie is heartbroken. She just started to trust Lex again & gave him her full heart by marrying him last minute. But Lex's past then comes & ruins it once again, sending Charlie running (again!). Lex will do anything to make it up to Charlie & prove to her that he is in for the long run, but will Charlie ever fully trust him?
As another surprise is thrown into the mix, Lex & Charlie suddenly find themselves having to forgive each other for their broken past & work together in sharing the love they have. By 60% of this book, their love story is complete & they are happy. I suggest only reading up to there because the last 30-40% was all over the place...
Unfortunately a terrible incident occurs, resulting in Lex having to leave his beloved married family bliss & be there for his sister. Unfortunately this impacts Lex & Charlie's marriage (which doesn't make sense because Charlie should be there for Ariana too), and the drama that spirals is just unnecessary. Charlie & Lex grow so much in the first 50% of this book and the last 30% ruins all their growth. I wish they stuck together & were there for Lex's sister; Ariana together. But instead, Charlie made it about her & Lex stuffed up (again!).
I love Lex & Charlie. I was obsessed with their story. But their story could have been one book, not a duet. The last 30% of this book was drama that wasn’t needed or written well. Unfortunately with this in mind, I have to give it 3/5 stars with 3/5 steam.
I will be continuing with this series as I am excited to read about Will & Amelia!!!
