Haunted house, weird child and a new nanny! I'm sure it's been done a few times before. An interesting story though with witchcraft and unravelling a mystery. A kind of wanted the aunt to be in on it but that was too obvious. Easy to read though it took me a while to get used to the style, I thought the sentences were short to begin with but you definitely got the eerie feeling and was rooting for Elspeth.
