Know My Name
by Chanel Miller
5/5 stars
took me a while to get into it, but it's ultimately heartbreaking and enlightening. it's so amazing how chanel got into detail about her assault, the duration of the trial, and the aftermath of it all. i'm so angry and frustrated with how the system just belittles this kind of cases.
i was also glad that chanel acknowledged her privilege in pushing her truth, the only truth, to the court because not many can do that, especially when thinking about the victims here in the philippines where we have a poorer and (probably) more corrupt justice system.
must-read and an instant favorite!
