Lovely Beast
by B.B. Hamel
Lovely Beast is an enemies to lovers/surprise pregnancy dark romance. Sara and Angelo meet at a friends wedding and have a one nighter that leads to a surprise pregnancy. Sara ends up assisting Angelo in proving if one of Angelo’s men is innocent or not. Both were not expecting to see each other again.
Surprise pregnancy is a trope that I don’t read a lot of due to it not being a favorite but it works with this book!
I enjoyed the pacing of the book. It didn’t feel rushed or like it was dragging on unnecessarily. Sara is having to work through things not being black and white like she was raised to believe. The character growth she goes through is a great one to read. Angelo goes through some growth but not as much as Sara (this is not a bad thing). You can’t help but love Angelo’s filthy mouth around Sara.
Lovely Beast has a good balance of smut while still having a plot. This is not my first BB Hamel book and it definitely won’t be my last. The book is a stand-alone that is intertwined with Beautiful Corruption (I recommend reading that one first but is not required). I can’t wait to see how the “series” progresses.
This is a book I received from Booksprout in exchange for an honest review.
