Thor: God of Thunder, Volume 1: The God Butcher by Jason Aaron

5.0

hmmm, since NOW initiative by Marvel started, it felt like DC 52, but I was wrong, besides the X.Men I really like their take on Thor. This book is a great start for this monthly ongoing, but I just wished Vol 1 is longer. The reader will have to pick up the next volume to finish the story. I guess they are copying the 4 issue volumes by Valiant, which they execute very well. Anyways with the new Thor movie I suggest reading this and the next, because the movie tie in follows both volume. Also what captured my heart is Esad Ribic great art, each panel greatly done to tell the story, years ago great art sacrifice panel execution. I just wish Ribic would stay in one title, rather than being a journeyman in Marvel.
