This book was SOO frustrating. I had read mixed reviews but I couldn't resist the vibes of "sci-fi thriller romance".
Firstly this book is such a slow burn, I almost gave up on it so many times but every so often they would drop a hint or a tidbit of information about what's to come that made me stay. Personally I would say there next to no plot until you get about 70% of the way through the book which was so annoying.
The writing is so superfluous, like I had to look up the definition of a word every other paragraph. And I know that sort of makes sense when some characters are from the 19th century but also it just made it difficult to read.
Finally, I did not like the ending. Maybe this is on me because I don't really like sci fi or fantasy books because I feel like they just can just do an thing so stuff feels like a cop out. I really hated the whole me from the future thing.
Also the romance is just weird
