Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

i’m SOO glad to have finally read this classic story. i thought it was phenomenally written and i understand its regard. the story of Catherine and Heathcliff was NOT what i was expecting. a lot of reviews, of which i agree with, encourage the reader to not think of this as a “romance” because it really is not. it’s a story of class, division, and deep humanity. generational traumas and curses are broken, the main characters aren’t even the main characters. both Catherine and Heathcliff are deplorable and irredeemable, albeit one more than the other. but it’s still enthralling and i really loved reading it. one to return to for sure.
