Widowland by C.J. Carey

4.0

In an age where we are still dealing with censorship and revocation of rights and liberties, I think dystopian fiction is very relevant. This book blended ideas from The Handmaid's tale, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, etc. while infusing the plot with the noir vibes of a spy thriller. I appreciated the straightforward writing style that made this a very entertaining read!

It was about time I picked it up from my shelves because I needed to know whether I wanted to pre-order the sequel: and yes I do! I am looking forward to seeing where this hypothetical branch of history goes!
