The first time I read this in 2021, I gave it a 3 star. Today it is a 5 star. Why? Who knows!? lol. This is a good reminder though that books hit you differently in different seasons. Right now the world is so intense and dark, and I am here for a low stakes rom-com to take me out of reality.
Alexander The Greatest is my favorite character for this novel, followed by his cat named “Flannery O’Connor.” And the trope of “friends to lovers” might be my favorite because it seems so realistic to me…of course you would fall in love with a person you know so well…Alex is so tender with Poppy…and I was here for it. Alex truly was the greatest.
