Book 2 of the Southern Lights series of interconnected stand alones follows Stefan who we met in book 1 & Cass they meet as Stefan was meant to go on a horse trek with his best friend Tanner & his boyfriend Ethan from book 1 for a tour of some of the landmarks from the Lord Of The Rings movies but Tanner & Ethan have to bail suddenly leaving Stefan with two other guests and the guide Cass. Stef is not one for outdoorsy shit and is reluctant to go forward with the trek but does so once he catches sight of the eye candy that is Cass and picks up vibes that he may not be as straight as Ethan led him to believe.

I enjoyed every second of listening to this book, it is full of witty banter and smoking hot chemistry between Stef & Cass, and although overall a lighthearted read the characters do find themselves in a pretty serious and tense situation which grabbed my attention and kept me hooked. I'm not usually a fan of insta love, and although there is an element of that here, it develops in a much more believable way than I've read before. Stef is full of sass but has a quiet vulnerability to him and Cass for all his rugged manly appearance is unsure of himself and how his bisexuality may effect his life as he hasn't come out to his dad as he married his high-school sweetheart and never saw the point in doing so. There is really only one spicy scene, but it is extensive and delicious.

Jay Hogan is fast becoming a favourite of mine, and Gary Furlong is the perfect choice of narrator for her witty, sarcastic humour filled writing as his delivery of it is brilliant. 🌶🌶
