My Best Friend's Mardi Gras Wedding by Erin Nicholas

4.0

This story is funny, sweet, and steamy. You will love this romantic comedy filled with banter, innuendos, and over-the-top characters that will warm your heart. The book is a refreshing romance about a couple who finds love fast but then waits a year and meets up again by chance to rekindle those feelings. I love the grand gestures and personalities. Josh and Tori are so different, but I love that they are outrageously over the top in their expression of love for each other and others. This story was a fantastic first book in this series, and I can't wait to read more.

This book begins in New Orleans at Mardi Gras on Bourbon Street. Josh doesn't seem to mind the baked displays as he hands beads out. He is making his way to the bar where he is supposed to meet the girl he has been pinning for the last year. I love that he seems to be a starry-eyed romantic.

Tori is supposedly at her friend's wedding, which lands her on Bourbon Street on Mardi Gras. She is best friends with the groom Andrew and a large animal vet from Iowa. We even get a quick look back at the crumbs she and Josh left for each other. I hope they meet up.

What, they don't meet up even though she shows up, ugh. Oh, they finally meet, and it is so sweet and not what I expected. Josh's family is a riot, and omg, some of the stories they tell are so romantic, if not a little crazy. I love the banter and innuendos in this book; they are amazing. The larger-than-life characters as well.

Pmt, I love how this book ends, and our bayou man got the girl in the most perfect way. The live triangle was intriguing, but I thought a little overdone. However, I can't wait to read more in this series, even with different main characters.
