Never in a million years did I think I could jump from a 2-star first book to a 5-star second book. I almost didn't give this book a chance and I am SO grateful I did! This book improved leaps and bounds from the first!
It starts right after the wedding. You think Christiano is going to require Natalia to do him right there in the church but like the king he is, he just gives her a new dress! Of course, she goes to his home and slowly, so slowly, starts to realize he isn't the demon she's made him into in her mind. I wish she would have been a little faster figuring it out, but man that slow burn is delicious!
Christiano is the PERFECT alpha character. The perfect amount of protective and supportive. He freaking starts training her so she can defend herself and is constantly rooting for her to grow her confidence and take control of her life. I feel bad for the poor dude because he really does love her but how he acquired her was yucky. As much as I found myself wishing Natalia would just forgive him, I had to respect her anger too. She was literally ripped from her home, found out her first love sucked, and then thrust into a new life. She was doing the best she could in a hard situation.
I loved this entire fucking book. I loved when Christiano had her Mother's wedding dress fixed. I loved Jazmin and how she was always going to bat for Christiano. She saw the true him and really was a helping hand in getting Natalia to realize how great he is. The smut scene in this book was maybe the hottest thing I have ever fucking read. Damn. So good.
Poor Christiano having to travel to try and prove he didn't kill Natalia's mother made me sad. I guess I can understand why Natalia couldn't fully believe him but didn't he prove enough with his actions? The man literally saves women from horrible situations. Why the hell would he murder your Mother? I'm convinced freaking Diego was behind that murder and I can't wait for Natalia to use her training against that slimy bastard.
I am aching to read the next book!! I cannot wait to find out what happens! I mean freaking Christiano is stabbed and Natalia is screaming! I can't handle the cliffhanger! I must know what happens!
