This was an incredible YA Dystopian book. The world is exaggerated but believably so, building off of evils in our own world in a hauntingly familiar way. While romance is a major piece of the plot, the lingering themes revolve around the dangers of capitalism, the power of hope, and the importance of community. Ava Reid's writing is beautiful, and continues to solidify her as one of my favorite contemporary authors.
