Out Came the Sun: Overcoming the Legacy of Mental Illness, Addiction, and Suicide in My Family by Mariel Hemingway

4.0

A solid 3.5, rounded up because I'm unabashedly biased toward all things Hemingway.

If you've seen her incredible documentary, there's little more to be found here - a few behind the scenes peeks into her movies (plus stories about co-stars like Kurt Russell and Eric Roberts) as well as more recent goings-on in her life. That said, I devoured this one and enjoyed it.

However, there were really weird pauses, as though she had the book in front of her while reading and was flipping the page, only more often, that became a little grating.
