I give it only one star because I truly disliked this book. But for writing, this book deserves five stars. Christie really made one feel like you were actually reading Mike's account. The sentences were somehow wrong, and some of the word choices made you wonder if everything was quite right with him. In the end, I wasn't too surprised that he was mad. It fit with the sort of sentences he used. The feeling Endless Night gave me was remarkable. Well done, but gruesome.
