Project Apex by Michael Bray

3.0

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Project Apex begins as a research to alter the genetics of people, to be used as enhanced soldiers, a war tool. A project the authorities thought they had in check, until they find out they don't. Rogue enchanted soldiers create chaos all across the globe, led by a man set on purifying the earth to begin anew.

The book start out kinda boring and slow, showing how the DNA used to create superior humans were found. It then leads on to the plot of the book, starting with the build-up and then progresses further and further into the chaos, as leaders struggle to control the panic and havoc all over the world.

The book is okay. It has adventure and is faced space, moving the story along as it need be without any stalling or unnecessary stops. It gives some food for thoughts, as characters discusses view points regarding who are the terrorists, who are they good guys and it all depends on your viewpoint and where you come from, to conspirational thoughts about the governments and what they let or do not let the common people know.

I might pick up the next book in the series if I fall over it, but I won't hunt for it. But the book wasn't a waste of time, but entertaining in its way.
