How can I not love a book where the romantic heroine is a librarian! This was also one of the books that introduced me to Judaism as a child, the rare book depicting Jewish life in the early 20th century in a generally upbeat way. Each of the 5 sisters is lovable, with a distinct personality, but shy, bookish Sarah was always my favorite.
