Quick Trick by Skye Jordan

5.0

I originally read this story when it was a novella in a Christmas anthology and I really loved it. Since then, it’s been expanded upon and rewritten while still maintaining the original feel and heart of the story. QUICK TRICK is just as good as Home Advantage (its prior name), and even better because it feels more like Skye Jordan. It’s sexier and has a nice edge to it, but it’s still sweet and charming. And while it has been changed, there is no change in voice or glaring difference; just the sense that we get more of the story that we enjoyed prior. If this is your first time being introduced to this story and these characters, you will fully enjoy it and get the nice burn of a sexy Jordan book.

Both characters were palpable and relatable. Grant, even with his celebrity status and ego, was charming and unselfish; both qualities really brightened him up as a character and helped readers see past the former. Our heroine, Faith, is probably one of my favorites. She’s a daddy’s girl suffering from the loss of her father, and struggling to keep his dream alive. She’s stubborn and self-sufficient, almost to a fault. Which makes dealing with Grant a huge challenge because she won’t take pity or help, most especially from a guy like him. A guy too forward and thinks too much of himself.

I loved that Skye added more to this story all while spicing it up. It was hot before, but good goddamn it has tripled in sexiness. And I mean, WHOA. It was worth the read before but now? Now it’s a must-read. Aside from the hot factor, QUICK TRICK is about finding what really matters in life and where you make your mark. It was beautifully written and a heartwarming love story. I’m excited to get to meet new characters in each subsequent book in the series, and enjoy the beauty that is a Skye Jordan book, now with hockey added in.
