I was unaware this was the fourth in the Promise Falls series. That being stated, this is a splendid stand-alone book as I was not casting about in a myriad of direct references to past books, as they were limited.
Mr. Barclay like a master angler knows how to efficiently utilize his equipment expertly. This is a multi-layered story with many twists and turns that had me hook, line and sinker. It was well-paced and ticked along nicely with authentic characters and a solid storyline providing few subtle subplots all ensuring "tight lines" for Mr. Barclay.
