The Law by Jim Butcher

3.0

3.5 stars.

Fab little jaunt back into Dresden-land, and one that felt extra special (like a hark back into earlier books).

BUT [***SPOILERS***]
Pitting the win for the “nice tutor” against the double-loss of the Hag (sexual harassment + whatever violence her boss inflicts on her for defending herself) proves just how ongoing @JimButcher ‘s sexism is. Deciding who is good (or reformed) and who is not - is EXACTLY what Dresden says isn’t up to him. And yet, the novella still implies that the Hag deserved her fate just as much as the primary asshole did. These books are so much fun. It’s just too bad that the author is still living back in the year the series started as far as gender equality is concerned.

The audiobook for this novella was well read by the author.
