Okay, I officially get the Elle Kennedy love now. I liked her a lot before, but was holding onto my initial trepidation from The Deal… But that’s over now! I’m honestly probably going to reread it to see if I think it’s better the second time around.
Because this? Loved this. I love when a playboy falls in love. I loved Dean. I loved Allie. I loved the sex. I even loved the third act break-up! Ms. Kennedy is the queen of the third act break-up because I usually hate them, but most of hers actually make sense and I think this one was done really well. Also? This book even made me cry. And that ending??? We are truly getting into the real world now! I can’t wait for Tucker’s love story😍
Mini rant:
I HATE adults who are dicks to kids. I know Dean isn’t a kid in this book, but he may as well have been and he WAS a kid when his COACH PUNCHED HIM IN THE FACE. That is UNACCEPTABLE behavior and I wish there had been some sort of comeuppance for him because I truly hate adults like that and why should I have to read about them in a book if they’re not going to be unrealistically punished? Have Dean ask if O’Shea ordered the drug test. Have Dean say “I know I’m getting cut from the team. But you should know that he punched me in the face when I was in high school.” Have his coach not be aware of that! Have O’Shea get fired in disgrace! I just read too many books where an adult on a power trip gets away with it and I hate it.
