I can’t really say much about the story but just that I so enjoyed Ann Enright reading it and that I loved Carmel’s character. She made me laugh, empathise, sympathise and love her. I’m going to re-read a physical copy and see if my rating changes. Would recommend if you want a gentle book with immaculate, clever writing and if you are enjoy strong character building rather than a fantastic plot.
